It's called originality

“It’s called #originality.”

Watching a movie with my daughter called Let it shine.  It’s hard to see how our young ones try so hard to impress others at the expense of not being true to themselves. Do they even know who they are? What do we as #parents do or say to make them understand that being true to themselves mean? Then there is a patent in the movie who wants his son to live the life he picks for him. When we do this as #parents are we not failing our #youth??

It’s #youth month, what are we saying to them they prepares them for the future? Do we encourage them to follow their dreams and help them nurture them or do we demand them to be the versions of ourselves that we failed to be??

I see too many young people in my vision board sessions struggle to #visualize their future because they are  #afraid of what their parents will say to them.

When will we be our #children’s champions? Who do we expect to #champion their dreams?? What kind of adults do we hope they be when we kill their #dreams?  Let’s go back and think back at when we were 12 and had #dreams and someone told us that they are not valid. How did that make you feel?? Now why are you doing it to your child??

I am your kids and teens life coach.
Let me know if you have any questions.

  1. This makes you really think, are we as parents stifling our kids growth?

    1. It goes back to the conversations we have with them. We really need to be attentive to their responses so we know how we can help them with a growth mindset. We need to put our feelings aside.
